Soda in Glass Bottles

I was recently at the grocery store and I picked up a 4-pack of IBC root beer. I have a lot of nostalgic attachment, my grandma used to keep these humungous, Costco-sized boxes of it in their basement and it was a core memory to have one with the local pizza place. It’s been years since I’ve had one, and the taste really does hold up, sassafras and cream are perfectly balanced for a perfect pick-me-up.

On a less personal note, there’s something very satisfying about the clink of a glass bottle. It makes the drink feel like more of an occasion, like you’re celebrating something special (though in our case, we seemed to be celebrating going to the grocery store and it still not snowing in Denver). I also think it’s funny to walk/drive around with one in your hand because people look at you with a little concern, but it’s not illegal as long as you don’t throw it at anyone’s head.
